Year 7 ACMI Excursion

This term, all four Year 7 classes travelled to the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, ACMI, to participate in a comprehensive storytelling, filming and editing workshop.

Students wrote, scripted, directed, starred in, and edited their own short films. They learnt about all of the different elements of film making and each took turns both in front of the camera and behind it.

It was a fantastic day and students took away many skills from the workshop. They learnt how to structure a great story with a beginning, middle and end; something we have been learning in class this semester. They also learnt how to use the camera and editing software to create special effects and add music to their films.

Thank you to all students for trying something new and a little out of your comfort zones – I am very proud of your efforts! You all made some truly wonderful films.
